Birmingham Promoters presents:
Spector
Thursday 23 February @ The Rainbow, Birmingham
Spector are the new band of Fred Machpherson, former vocalist of both Les Incompetents and Ox.Eagle.Lion.Man and co-host of MTV2’s Gonzo. They describe their sound rather ambitiously, but rightly so, somewhere between Roxy Music and The Strokes, The Killers and Kanye West, Pulp and R&B and Frank Sinatra.
After the release of the widely acclaimed ‘Never Fade Away’ and fan favourite ‘What You Wanted’ comes Spector’s third and final 7" in a trilogy of singles for Dalston based Luv Luv Luv records: ‘Grey Shirt & Tie.’ As 2011 culminates with their first foray into Europe and a headline London show at Bethnal Green Working Mens club, next year will see the release of Spector’s debut album. With major, international festivals and supports already in place, 2012 is set to be the year Spector take their 21st century torch songs to a wider stage.
